About Netrayu · A ray of hope since 1996

The science of sight, with the wisdom of Ayurveda

Netrayu joins two Sanskrit words — netra, the eye, and āyu, life. Our name is our promise: to care for your eyes over a lifetime, with the best of both sciences.

Our story

Patients should not have to choose

Dr. Hemkant Baviskar founded Netrayu Eyeurvedics Hospital & Research Centre in Jalgaon in 1996 on a simple belief: people should not have to choose between modern eye care and Ayurveda, or carry messages between doctors who never meet.

Three decades on, eye surgeons, optometrists, Ayurvedic physicians, Panchakarma consultants and therapists work side by side — sharing one record for every patient, agreeing one plan, and measuring the results together. Netrayu also trains Ayurvedic doctors in Netra Chikitsa, and holds free eye check-up camps every year for people in remote villages.

The Netrayu emblem: a meditating figure inside a golden iris beneath a golden brow

Our emblem places a meditating figure inside the iris, beneath a golden brow — calm, clear sight, the balance we aim for in every patient.

Safety first

A surgical safety checklist — consent, sign-in and time-out — at every operation, and the right patient confirmed at every step.

Measured outcomes

Symptoms graded and vision recorded at every visit, so progress is shown, not assumed.

Honest advice

Every option, its benefits and its costs explained before you decide — including when no treatment is needed.

Respect for tradition

Classical Ayurvedic therapies performed as the texts describe, by trained therapists, in dedicated rooms.

Our doctors

One team, both sciences

Your care is led by a team with more than 25 years of integrated eye care, supported by optometrists, nurses, Panchakarma therapists and a coordinator for international patients.

Measured outcomes

Results we measure, not assume

Integrated care should be held to the same standard as any other medicine. That is why every visit is recorded in a structured way, using tools recognised around the world.

Graded symptoms

Each complaint graded from 0 to 3 for each eye at every visit, and followed over time.

Validated questionnaires

OSDI for dry eye, CVS-Q for screen strain and NEI VFQ-25 for everyday visual function.

Precise vision records

Visual acuity converted to logMAR, the scale used in international research.

Research with consent

Anonymised data is used for research only when a patient has agreed in writing.

Technology

Our diagnostic suite

Measurements from each instrument are recorded for the right and left eye separately, with their normal ranges, so changes between visits are clear.

OCT imaging

High-resolution cross-sections of the retina and optic nerve for glaucoma, diabetic and macular disease.

Zeiss · Humphrey HFA3

Visual fields

Standardised mapping of side vision — the reference test for glaucoma follow-up.

Shape, curvature and thickness of the cornea for keratoconus screening and surgical planning.
